Terms of service

Inksong is operated by Epigrams (“Epigrams,” “we,” “us”). When these terms say “Inksong” they mean the website at inksong.app, the API at api.inksong.app, and the software services we offer through them.

These are the rules for using Inksong. By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the service, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the service.

Inksong rewrites AI-generated text to read more like a specific human voice. It does not certify, guarantee, or warrant that the output will pass any particular AI-detection tool, will be free of factual errors, or will satisfy any institution's policy. Output is best-effort and you are responsible for reviewing it before using it.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Inksong, or 13+ with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these terms on your behalf. If you're accepting these terms for an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation.

You're responsible for keeping your password and API key private. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account. Tell us at hello@inksong.app promptly if you suspect either has been compromised, and rotate your API key from the dashboard.

Don't use Inksong to:

• Submit content you don't have the rights to.
• Generate disinformation, harassment, sexual content involving minors, or other unlawful content.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Circumvent academic integrity, examination, or anti-plagiarism policies you've agreed to.
• Violate applicable law in your jurisdiction or the jurisdiction of the recipient of your output.
• Attack, probe, scan, scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to circumvent or overload the service.
• Use the service to build a competing product, or to train another AI model on its outputs.
• Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially redistribute the service without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice, and may report unlawful use to the appropriate authorities.

You own everything you submit and everything Inksong returns to you. We claim no rights to your content. You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, transmit, and process your content solely to deliver the service (for example, to send it to our model provider, store the output, and return it to you). This licence ends when the content is deleted as described in our privacy policy.

The Inksong name, logo, and software are owned by Epigrams. You may not use our brand without written permission.

We work to keep Inksong running but we make no uptime guarantee. The service is provided on a best-effort basis. We may pause, throttle, or remove features at any time. For paid plans, we will give reasonable advance notice of material changes that negatively affect you.

Free-tier usage is rate-limited and capped. We reserve the right to set, change, and enforce per-account fair-use limits.

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in the currency shown at checkout (currently Nigerian Naira, with more currencies added as they become available). Payment is processed by Paystack; by subscribing you also agree to Paystack's terms for that transaction.

Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period and you keep access until then. We don't prorate partial months.

We may change pricing for new billing cycles with at least 14 days' notice by email. If you don't agree, cancel before the change takes effect.

Refund requests made within 7 days of a charge are honoured without question — email hello@inksong.app with your account email and the transaction reference. After 7 days, refunds are case-by-case at our discretion. Refunds are issued to the original payment method via Paystack and may take 5–10 business days to appear, depending on your bank.

You can close your account at any time from Account settings. We can suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if we're required to by law, or if continued operation poses a risk to the service or its users. On termination, your right to use the service ends and your data is removed on the schedule in our privacy policy. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and governing law — will survive.

Inksong is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and quiet enjoyment. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that outputs will be accurate, complete, or fit for any particular use.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither Epigrams nor its officers, employees, or affiliates will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or reputation — arising out of or related to your use of the service, even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to these terms or the service is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD $50. Free-tier users accept that their cap is therefore USD $50.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Epigrams from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from (a) your content, (b) your use of the service, (c) your violation of these terms, or (d) your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property and privacy rights.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email to the address on your account and announced on this page with a revised “last updated” date. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance. If you don't agree, cancel your account before the change date.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and Epigrams agree to bring any disputes arising under these terms exclusively in the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

Nothing in these terms removes any consumer rights that cannot be waived under the mandatory law of the country in which you live.

If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. You may not assign these terms without our written consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These terms — together with our privacy policy — are the entire agreement between you and us about the service.
