Inksong vs Grammarly
A factual, side-by-side comparison. We try to be honest about where Grammarly wins.
TL;DR
Grammarly is a writing assistant — grammar, spelling, style suggestions. It isn't an AI humanizer. We compare because users sometimes ask. The honest answer: use both. Grammarly cleans grammar, Inksong humanizes AI-generated drafts.

Where Inksong wins
Voice cloning
Inksong learns your voice from a sample and applies it across a full document. Grammarly’s brand-tone settings on Business plans are closer to a tone preset than a voice clone.
AI-text-specific humanization
Grammarly’s rewrite is paraphrase-style and sentence-level. Inksong is built to take an AI draft and make a whole document read like a person wrote it.
Domain awareness across 6 writing types
Academic, legal, pastoral, medical, marketing and technical presets. Grammarly offers tone and audience suggestions — useful, but not domain-aware in the same way.
REST API for systems work
Inksong publishes an API so you can integrate humanization into your own pipeline. Grammarly does not offer a consumer-facing API.
NGN local pricing
Direct Naira billing through Paystack for African customers. Grammarly charges in USD only.
Where Grammarly wins
Editor integrations
Word, Google Docs, browser extensions, native desktop and mobile apps. This is Grammarly’s biggest moat — you barely have to leave your document. Inksong is a web app and an API.
Grammar and spell-check
Grammarly’s core product is a mature grammar and spelling checker. Inksong doesn’t do this — it’s out of scope for us.
Ubiquity
An enormous existing user base, including many enterprises. If your colleagues already use Grammarly, that’s a real workflow advantage we can’t match on day one.
Established team and enterprise plans
Grammarly Business has years of team features, SSO, admin controls and procurement-friendly contracts behind it. Our Enterprise plan is newer.
Our recommendation
Use both. They solve different problems. Grammarly catches grammar mistakes and offers style suggestions inline as you write. Inksong humanizes AI-generated drafts and applies your voice at the document level.
A common workflow we hear about: draft with AI assistance, run Inksong to humanize the document, then run Grammarly to clean up any remaining grammar or spelling issues. The two tools are complementary, not substitutes.
